I used to be a coal man up there, believe it or not. Terrific shot, particularly in b&w.

Peat was preferred but peat's expensive, relatively speaking. And as for lucky, well, it was certainly different! The hardest job I've ever done that's for sure. But Friday was a damn fine day when it finally came around. Nothing like working really hard all week to justify the excesses of the weekend, lol. We were delivering in Ullapool two days before Christmas and the snow was thick on the ground and falling heavily and it was dark too because this was our last run before the holidays so we needed to get to all our regulars before the break. On woman managed to get the local radio station to play a song just for us, Eternal Flame by The Bangles! Geddit? It was enough to bring a tear to a gless ein', lol. Sorry, I'm rambling.

Rant away. Good story. I'll always think of that when I hear the song.

Merci. C'est un de mes endroits préférés, et bien que les collines ne sont pas aussi massives que, disons, les Alpes, le paysage est superbe.
